A genealogist seeks direct-line ancestors who are missing from a family tree, any vital information missing from an ancestor, and/or the children of a direct-line ancestor. Direct-line ancestors are parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc. This is done by searching out birth, marriage, and death records to prove names, dates, places, and relationships. When vital records are not available, other records are used to indirectly prove that information. 

A family history researcher puts your ancestor and their family into a time and place. Family history is knowing how your ancestors worked, played, and lived. This is done by researching the area in which your ancestors lived, the time in which they lived, and records such as newspapers, census records, maps, and even your own family traditions and lore.   

As a professional genealogist and family history researcher, I will take all the guesswork out of building your family tree. I love to solve a mystery and provide found information in an easy-to-follow way. Finding and reading old records, and interpreting the valuable insights into your ancestors, brings me joy! 

At the end of the day, I will do the work you don't want to do or don't have the time to do to find and get to know your ancestors.
